Dennis Smit: As a child, I was obsessed by the work of Escher and Mondriaan. As I grew older and developed my interest in art, I noticed all the abstract works I liked are somehow linked to each other. They all seemed to be linked to or inspired by Escher, Mondriaan or, particularly Victor Vasarely. My interest had a name: Op Art, or geometric art. My obsession with patterns and evolving figures was complete.
